Call me chef boyardee!

Last night Eric and I went and got groceries.... I will never EVER again go to the commissary on the day the military gets paid. We didn't even realize it was payday or what we were getting ourselves into. Half of the shelves were bear due to the hundreds of people at the store. The line to checkout was wrapped around more than half the store. In fact I had Eric get in line to check out as I continued to shop. I would run back to the cart and drop of the stuff I had grabbed and keep going. It was insane! Then when we went to get gas premium and unleaded were out at all pumps. I guess people must really have wait to get anything till payday. We got most of what we needed. There were some items we couldn't get because they ran out of it!

I just got done making a homemade version of Texas Roundhouse's butter.

First you take 2 sticks of butter at room temp and place it in a bowl.

Then add a cup of powdered sugar and blend.

Then add a cup of honey and blend as well. Make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl to get everything blended.

Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and
                        blend.

I poured the butter into a container and stuck in the fridge to help thicken it a little. I have already tried it and it taste AMAZING. Its a little different than Texas Roadhouse. I can taste more honey then I can with their butter. Either way its really good and I am excited for Eric to come home and try it.

I have the crock-pot going right now with my pork to make pulled pork sandwiches. I will post the recipe later tonight or tomorrow if it turns out good :) I am interested in tasting it because its cooking in Dr Pepper...hmmm lol. I am also making mashed potatoes from scratch for the first time.

Lets just say I am pretty excited for dinner!!! I am getting sick of eating the same thing over and over so I have decided atleast once a week I will be trying a new recipe. I better learn to cook more things because Audrey will want a mom that can cook ;)

~I wish my stove came with a Save As button like Word has. That way I could experiment with my cooking and not fear ruining my dinner~
