Life is short

WILLIAMSTOWN TWP. — Four people were seriously injured in a near head-on crash on Grand River Avenue near Williamston Monday, police said.
According to Meridian Township Lt. Greg Frenger, at about 4 p.m. Monday, a Honda driving east on Grand River crossed the center line and struck a Ford Thunderbird.

There were two people in each vehicle, Frenger said. At least one victim was taken by helicopter to Sparrow Hospital.Frenger said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. David Byers had just come into his house after mowing his lawn when he heard the crash. Byers said he and a woman, who identified herself as a registered nurse, tended to victims in one of the vehicles until help arrived. The accident closed Grand River Avenue east of Zimmer Road, near Williamston. The road has now reopened.

This would be the crash my husbands aunt and uncle were in. Aunt Tori has been discharged with just cuts and bruises but her husband wasn't so lucky. He was admitted into ICU and has sense been transferred to an ortho unit. He has broken his foot, hip, arm, ribs. He was hurt pretty badly and will be having surgery soon. It is such a scary thought to realize the people you love can be taken from you so quick. That is why it is so important to not let things get in the way from loving the people who matter. I wish we could be home to hug them in their time of need but instead we are stuck on an island :/ Everyone send their love and prayers to them and hug your loved ones!!

On a better note I just paid for my classes. I am a little nervous. I am taking 12 credits which is nothing compared to what I have taken before but I will be delivering a baby in the middle of these classes lol. I am hoping I can stay enough ahead that when I go into labor it wont hinder me too much. Only time will tell. I am praying for understating professors lol. I ordered my books on amazon and all but one book came today :) Four books in and one more on the way. I am actually excited to get back into classes. I have never taken a summer off so I feel weird without doing school work. Hope I stay this driven the later I get into this pregnancy lol. I am making chicken alfredo for dinner.... baby is excited ;)

I decided my blog wouldn't be complete without a little quote in the end :) Those who know me well will understand!

~Life is far too short to be sad, to be mad, to hold regret, to look back, to be depressed, and to be unkind. Be nice and do good, everyday is new~

Dreams do come true

So This day has been eventful and its not even noon :) I had a dream that my Grandpa Joseph was still alive. In my dream he had on his ACUs and was rocking away in his rocking chair as usual. My husband had on his uniform too and I giggled in my dream cause my grandpa was a higher rank so my husband had to take orders from him. My grandpa looked happy to be back in his chair. After I woke up I got a call from my friend Deb who just booked tickets to come down here and see us!!! She is coming down August 27th which means we have less than a month!!! I cant wait to see a familiar face from back home! I think this is going to help make the time go by really fast too. She leaves beginning of September which means our little girl will be due two months after that. Then Erics family is coming to visit in December and then mine in January!!! I cant wait to have Audrey and see her with my family. It melts my heart just thinking about it <3 For now though I have to still figiure out what to do for Eric and I's anniversary!!! Its a week from today. Time sure does fly when you look back. Seems like yesterday we were getting married and enjoy our honeymoon in Jamaica. We were just saying how bad we missed Jamaica. Got to be one of best times of my life!!

We went to the Aloha Stadium swap meet and market on Saturday. It is Hawaii’s largest open air flea market. It had sooo many tents we didnt even make it through half of it. My legs were getting tired and little Audrey was killing me ;) We did find a couple things... for Audrey of course lol

I found this piggy bank made out of a coconut and thought it was the cutest thing in the world!!! I walked by it at first but had to go back and get it. The nose pulls out to dump the coins out. They had other ones with little grass skirts but Eric wasn't a fan lol. Then I spotted this cute Hawaiian dress that had all the islands on it and thought it was too cute. Both things were cheap too! Eric and I decided we would go back next weekend and do the other half we didn't get to.

After the market we went and got Chinese food because I was STARVING... I had made a great breakfast and got sick and threw it all up. So by time lunch came I think my eyes were more hungry than my stomach cause I ordered everything off the menu (Eric and I always share chinese). We ended taking most of it home which is ok cause Eric eats left overs.Yesterday we noticed that our brand new computer had a virus on it so we took it into Best Buy today. They tried charging me $200 dollars to fix it and I lost it on them. I ended up walking out leaving Eric to deal with it cause I was getting so upset. We ended up getting the virus removed and he didn't charge us... I think he may have felt a little bad for the pregnant hormonal chick lol. We rented movies and are going to relax the rest of the day!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday!! I am 23 weeks today into my pregnancy! I cant believe I only have 17 more left to go until we meet our sweet precious girl! I get more and more excited as the days progress!

Today the hubby and I are going to movie and a dinner. I figure we better enjoy going out on dates while we can! I think we are going to see Step Up Revolution!

I just upload my little digital camera and forgot that I had pictures on it that I haven't posted to Facebook or anything yet.

Ala Moana Shopping Center The worlds largest outdoor mall. This mall is HUGE! It has 4 levels and the food court has every option of food you could dream of....pregnant persons dream! We went at the right time because they had a luau going on. It was pretty neat. Definitely place to take people when they come visit! :)

Catching Fire

I have spent the last day with my nose in this book. I read the whole thing in just over a day! I couldn't put it down. After reading the first book I wanted Katniss to be with Gale but now I am realizing that I hope she ends up with Peeta. The book ended to where you HAVE to read the third book so I am very glad that I have it and can start it now :)

They say that the baby can hear and recognize voices now so I think I will read the next book to her :)

Other than that it has been a very mellow last couple of days! Thank goodness :) Tomorrow is Friday and that makes me 23 weeks! Each week that goes by I feel better and better knowing that if I went into labor the chances of our girl making it our good :) They say 24 weeks marks a viable pregnancy although many babies have made it in the 23 week mark. I know once I reach 24 weeks I will relax a little.

Eric's and I's anniversary is on August 6th and I am not sure what to do sense being pregnant eliminates a lot of things. I am up for suggestions if anyone has any!!

Quick Little Trip to L&D

I ended up going into L&D at Tripler today because the pain wouldn't go away and was really bad. I was told not to risk it and get checked out. I had the joys of getting my cervix checked and everything was fine (HUGE relief)! After they ran some tests the doctor ruled out infection and preterm labor. He said the baby is sitting really low and I should wear a maternity belt. It was a relief to know my little girl was doing fine, I just have a little vagina kicker ;)

People were not kidding when they say this pain is bad!! I hope some of you mothers out there skip this symptom!! We did get to see little Audrey and she was cute as ever! She was kicking up a storm and moving all around for the ultrasound! The doctor said she has plenty of amniotic fluid and everything looked great! Now I just got to figure out how this darn belt works!

I am hoping the rest of this day is uneventful and I can lay back and relax after spaghetti dinner!!

Lightning Crotch

Most of you already know Eric and I moved to the beautiful state of Hawaii! It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Looking at the mountain outside our house never gets old! We have seen many waterfalls and gone on many hikes. The beaches here are amazing and the water is never too cold... nothing like Lake Michigan!! Everything seems perfect but when your pregnant it never is ;)

This is my first blog post and I am sure you are all wondering why in the world it is titled "Lightning crotch". Well this being my first pregnancy I had no clue all the joys pregnancy brings! Yesterday morning as I lay in bed thinking should I get up I am bombarded by shooting pains in my vagina. These pains are no joke. After about five minutes of these pains I decided to do my typical research on what this may be and come across this article:

Top 10 Things They Should Really Warn You About Before You Get Pregnant

#1. You might grow a beard.
“I didn’t know my prenatal vitamins would make my facial hair grow out of control!” – megi616

#2. Taking a good poop could feel like a distant memory.
“I never thought I’d have constipation so severe that it makes me feel like I had a major ab workout the day after ‘pushing’” – HRMJPC

#3. You’ll have insane gas you can’t even blame on the dog.
“My gas would make a trucker blush.” – 2becomes3

#4: Two words: Uncontrollable drooling.
“No one told me about all the extra saliva that would wind up all over my pillow after waking up!” – B3Bride

#5. You’ll burp like a frat boy.
“I don’t just have little burps… I have full-on if-I-don’t-release-the-valve-I’m-gonna-hurl kind of belching” –AndriaKay
.
#6. Grooming your lady bits could become the bane of your existence.
“No one told me that one day, you won’t be able to see your vagina, therefore you won’t be able to give yourself a trim… and will become a hairy beast.” -- shanmoyer

#7: There will be discharge. And lots of it.
“Oh, the huge amounts of discharge … I was so not prepared to feel wet the entire third trimester.” –Cullum13

#8. The term “lightening crotch” will become a painful reality.
“I refer to it as the Cooter Basher. It feels like someone came up to you and used your vag for batting practice.” --aliciamarie

#9. Kindergarten wasn’t the last time you’ll pee your pants in public.
"I pee my pants every time I gag, cough, or sneeze." – mrosekepple

#10. Your vag will actually grow. (Yes, grow.)
"At the end of my pregnancy, my ‘girl parts’ swelled up so big I could barely move my legs around to walk" --DoDoD

This article had me laughing out loud because it is all VERY true. There is nothing like a swift kick to the crotch to wake you up in the morning!! I have been told "Next to labor, you really haven’t felt true pain until you’ve been kicked in the vagina by your unborn baby." At the end of the day though when you feel your baby kicking it makes all the pains worth it!
